About the Event

Join contemporary folk artist Lewis for an intimate Samhain gig in Myo. She will be accompanied by guest musician Essa Flett on violin. Lewis and Essa have been playing together for 3 years and will be hot out of the studio where they are recording Lewis's second album. Tonight, they will share songs from Lewis' critically acclaimed debut album Glenaphuca and from her forthcoming album Mother Ireland interspersed with some special witchy Samhain songs.

You are welcome to dress up for Samhain. The best dressed will receive a free cd ;-) Oh la la!!

Music from 7pm sharp. 

Two sets: - 7pm and 8.10pm

Bio: Lewis Barfoot is a contemporary Folk Artist and singer songwriter, based in Cork. She works with an uncomplicated loveliness of sound, blending ethereal, evocative vocals with original compositions and reinventions of traditional songs from across Ireland and the UK. A pioneer of Folk, Lewis is a timeless and gifted storyteller who captivates listeners with her fearless lyrics, gorgeous otherworldly voice, and satisfying arrangements. Frequently compared to the likes of Kate Rusby, Sandy Denny, Maíre Brennan and Julie Fowlis. Her debut album, Glenaphuca released on 5th March 2021 has received great support from RTÉ 1, FRUK, BBC Radio Ulster and RTÉ na Gaeltachta. Her second album "Mother Ireland" is due for release in 2023 followed by a tour of the UK and Ireland.
